To get WordPress K2 to work with the awesome WP Widgets plugin, you have you use a legacy version of the K2 theme. The latest K2 theme discontinues support of Widgets. Its alternative (sidebar modules) seemed very buggy and didn’t actually work for me.

K2 0.9.1 works great, with one caveat. Finally checked out the site in IE7 and was getting the following:

After my fun little jab at MS, figured it would probably look bad to have a similar error on this site. (Firefox, again here, works A-OK all around.)

The Simple Fix

Disable the Live Search option in K2 by visiting Presentation -> K2 Options.

LiveSearch is a nice touch; it’s not worth it though, if it causes IE to b0rk on your blog.

New Theme

What do you think of the new theme?

It’s a bit over the top, in the vein of John Chow. Mogul? Yeah, probably not yet exactly but you know what they say… act as if.
